Situated at Manx Utilities Authority’s Meary Veg Depot, this bespoke materials shelter was designed to provide protection for materials stored on site in a run of existing silos. This project was our first for The Isle of Man Government, and we were delighted to be awarded the contract.
Our proposal was selected by the procurement team as it provided the lowest cost of ownership with zero ongoing maintenance requirements and the fastest lead time to usability. In addition, the solution had best-in-class green credentials.
The 25m x 5m mono-pitch shelter was delivered on time and on budget in collaboration with our approved partners EG Services, who carried out the site preparation, groundworks and erection of the structure. The completed building provides a practical, low-maintenance solution for the storage of materials on site. The successful completion of this project opened the door to further opportunities with MUA and other Isle of Man Government departments.

Design & Tender Process
GRQ’s design proposal was successfully selected through the Isle of Man Government’s tender process, offering the lowest cost of ownership, zero ongoing maintenance requirements, and rapid deployment.
Steel Frame Erection
Following approval, the bespoke steel structure was manufactured, delivered to site and installed within 8 weeks, The mono-pitch frame was carefully erected while allowing normal site activities to continue throughout construction.
Cladding & Completion
The final phase included the installation of Juniper Green non-insulated cladding. The completed shelter was immediately put to use, providing practical protection for materials stored alongside the existing silos.
