Agricultural Steel Buildings

Agricultural buildings made from steel are becoming more popular due to the benefits they deliver at a competitive price point. We believe this is down to the ease with which our solutions can be erected requiring no specialist labour or equipment making them ideal for self-build. Common agricultural applications include hay barns, crop storage, workshops, machinery storage, and equestrian centres.

Being produced from pre-galvanised cold rolled steel, our profiles are rust proof and require zero maintenance throughout the 50 – 60 year life expectancy of the product.

Our buildings are designed to sit harmoniously in any location taking into account distance from the coast, elevation, and local climate including wind speeds. We also offer fully customisable doors, access points, roof pitch, and cladding colours. The flexibility of our cold-rolled galvanised steel frame design allows for future expansion through the addition of more bays, increasing the length of the building, or by adding an interconnecting building to the side. The buildings we provide can also be easily dismantled and re-located to a new location if so desired.

Isle of Man Agriculture and Fisheries Grant Scheme Approved.

Our Agricultural building solutions now qualify for The Isle of Man’s Agriculture and Fisheries Grant Scheme. The Grant Scheme is designed to support commercial businesses and developments within the Isle of Man’s farming, fishing, and food production industries.

Here’s how we work

We work with our clients in the initial stage to understand the requirements and objectives of the project.

  • 1
Once all details have been confirmed, we can raise preliminary specification drawings and issue a quotation in minutes.
  • 2
Once drawings are approved and an order placed, we can have all the components detailed, checked and ready to issue to supply chain partners for manufacture within a matter of hours.
  • 3
On receipt of order, we provide frame calculations, design and general arrangement pdf drawings, that can be used as part of your planning application.
  • 4
Under normal conditions we are able to supply a complete building kit ready for installation within 6-8 weeks of the order being received and approved.

Why choose GRQ?

Our buildings use high yield cold rolled galvanised steel for the main frame sections and galvanised laser cut brackets and fixings that are pre-drilled and bolt together using 16mm 8.8 grade nuts and bolts.

Our automated manufacturing process maintains the highest levels of quality and consistency and our network of proven UK supply chain partners provide the best price, market leading service, and products all backed with CE Accreditation. Our design team assist throughout the process to ensure the specification of our building meets the design brief and your requirements.

All frame components fully bolt together and are specifically designed and detailed for fast and efficient installation. Our automated CAD manufacturing processes maintain the reliable and consistent quality and accuracy of our component parts. Designed to your specification, our buildings are typically available in 6-8 working weeks.

We provide comprehensive and detailed assembly drawings and an instruction manual for erection. Our smaller buildings can be erected by just two people without the need for heavy lifting gear or specialist tools and are just like a big Meccano set!

Wherever possible our components are UK Sourced and UK Manufactured keeping the road miles and therefore the carbon footprint from our suppliers to our facility and on to customer site to an absolute minimum. A typical small/medium sized kit will fit on one 40ft trailer resulting in only one delivery to customer site!

We expect our buildings to last 50 – 60 years under normal use conditions and they can even be dismantled and repurposed on an alternative site should that be required.

We offer a wide range of insulation options and our buildings can easily be designed to meet Part L of the latest Building Regulations significantly reducing the energy that is required to heat them and subsequently making them more energy efficient. This in turn delivers real cost savings and also allows our customers to make informed renewable energy choices for their given application (Solar PV,  Heat Pump systems, Wind Turbines, Power wall etc)  should they be required.
